The principal objectives for The Competition are to provide a national platform for quality pie improvement, while providing a platform to gain maximum media exposure for pies and pie makers in their battle for a share of the fast food dollar.

Fish Cafe Balgowlah won an award for its Snapper and Prawn Pie. Homemade puff pastry filled with pink snapper pieces, eastern king prawns and sautéed vegetables, a winner in the seafood pie category.
